I just heard my Siggie Blocks made it to the person in charge. I was so starting to worry. And the coordinator knew so she sent me a PM to let me know. I LOVE THIS BOARD!!!!Oops sorry, didn't mean to yell. LOL. My sewing room has been getting am makeover and one more day should do it, howver, today my middle DD and my DH are taking me to stay overnight at the new Winstar Hotel in Thackerville, OK. They say I need a well needed rest...Guess my meds are keeping me from being a grumpball. LOL. HOnestly, I feel so sorry for those who have constant pain. This bone pain is about to get my goat, but I will have that goat for BBQue before I let it get to me. Just a few more days till I see the doctor and I won't leave his office till he tells me how he is going to fix me this time. LOL. I ended up with about 30 yds of flannel, and I do not sew with flannel, and about 2 sacks of that fleece stuff people have given me, some squars, some pieces etc. When I come home, I will need suggestions as to how to get rid of it. It's in big yds and pieces so won't fit in those 10.70 boxes. Hmmmmmmm?? It would takae me all day to type in everything I am going to sell/giveaway. But I will do that when I get home , take pictures and go to WM to get a cd (my camera won't browse and let me get to the pictures, have to check it out)....Then I will be ready. I sat a while and figured the amount of scrap/small fab I could send in a box could easily make a king or 2 quilts smaller. Oh well, when I get home. I love coffee. Even by beans instead of loose so it is really fresh when I grind them. This morning I am having Hazelnut/pecan....so good. Any body watching the Batik Lady's blogs???? I am so shocked and laughing at the same time. I am sorry, when she yells at everyone for not following her diractions....makes me a little_______. That sell blog should be on her own website. 5 or 6 rants of hers would cancel my order in a hurry. But she has gotten orders for hundreds of yards at a time. YOu all know by now, I give all I have and am nice to all....we don't deserve her to talk down to us. Even those who cannot comprehend the "rules" as easily as others. Yes her batiks are low priced, no I don't care to order from her. ANd for all my board friends who have been the brunt of her rants, I apologize for her. And for those board members who encourage her to ignore the others.....well that's another long story. Yes you are following "her rules" but remeember...others are older and a little slower...find them and help them order correctly. It wasn't like she did not have 20 pages of talk before she finally got her rules straight. Read back, at the beginning, this is what she told people to do.and not everyone has time to read 50 pages of talk to see what the new rules are...Ooops. there I go again, my inner self sneaking out..I am sorry, I do not tolerate rudeness. I guess I will get PM's now...but don't even bother. I know, I know. When you go to a store adn they are short and rude to you would you but from them no matter what the sale is?...NOT ME......end of story. SO I am going to get ready for my well needed break and try to enjoy myself. I am keeping my arm in a sling so it won't try to reach out and make me hurt.LOL. I have so many swaps and such going, joined the 9 patch now, and will have 10 or more boxes to ship out when I get home. Quilting and sharing is fun. I leave you on that friendly note. Happy quilting. That what friends are for... http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-47906-585.htm#3704924 Doodles from Deb |

My DH and dd are still in the casino. I may go back down in a few. This room is soooooooo boring. Thank you everyone who were there for me today. Your thoughtfulness helped me. I was afraid to check PM;s but they were all positive. Whew!!!! Next week I am going to list everything I have to share and figure out how to do it. I found out from Project Linus that Child Protective services in my area needs more quilts. so I will go home and get them ready. I can pick up more at my coordinator's too. It's so sad they run out. That means a child was in need. This is why I quilt for PL. Somewhere a child in need is hugging a quilt made just for them. I learned a lesson today from others telling me things. I should always walk away before punching the send button to let things work out...Go in read and get out if I am worried. I have gotten great advice from teh board. I hope I am around to chrish everyone. I haven't posted any new stories about my life. Maybe I can think of one. When I lived in Japan, things were fairly normal there, lots of military families. So I thought everyone had a dad who was American and mom something else.LOL. Then when we came to the states, oh my. I was raised on bases with every nationality and did not recognize color of people. Still don't. I am so proud to be half japanese and half american. Think of my family tree. So when I went to college I had to do a paper in World War II history and guess what? I did it on interviewing both sides of the fmaily as to what they were each doing the day the bombs hit Japan. I aced that paper. I have never been ashamed of who and what I am. My mom was raised in a British colony in Singapore. Her mom was a dentist and her dad a doctor. So they spole english all their lives. My granddad was the first Japanese light weight boxer to win a championship against the american contender. So in Tokyo there is a statue made out of marble in his name. We get magazines from relatives when they do a write up of past famous boxers and there he is. So proud. My daughter started school and when they were learning fractions she got confused. She came home and asked me a question. Mommy I am a quarter japanese right? and I said yes and explained to her, her response was "what are you" I said half and she said you mean you are fifty cents. I almost died laughing. My GKs had a lunch in school for them to bring a food from their families background. Mason wanted to bring fried rice. The teacher told him he was american and couldn't. He argued that by golly his grandmama was japanese and he was too. SO cute. I love things kids come up with to say. Always be proud of who you are...I was raised with this saying. When Cher (you remember the singer) sang "half breed" I knew that song was written for me. I loved that song. My sister and I were always the dark haired cousins in the states. In Japan, the only light one was my dad. LOL I am so blessed for having lived overseas in several places and met other people. Well, wasn't much of a story but it has a place in my heart. As they say in Japanese "i-e-she-mas tak-san"... that is I love you a lot. So as I finish to go rest I will also say "com-ba-wa.ato-day neh?" Means goodnight, see you tomorrow,ok? Good night all. (by the way, I also speak German, Korean and spanish)need practice though. Adios amigas That what friends are for... http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-47906-585.htm#3704924 Doodles from Deb |

Joined: Mar 28, 10 Messages: 9066 Feedback: 251/100.0% Location: Bluff Dale, Texas Online | Not a lot of time this morning to write but I had to say thank you to everyone of my true friends who PM's me this morning. I feel like a million dollars. I am truly blessed to have found this board. It is another outlet for me to share and teach and learn from. I love the chat room. Everyone talking 90 miles an hour..and guess what? I can keep up. I can almost type as fast as I talk. And yes, some of you asked. When I have no pain I do go 90 MPH. I am the Energizer quilter here, so they call me, and volunteer extraodinaire. I love titles.LOL When I was a Red Hat lady, I was the "hyterical Historian". I took the pictures, commented, and kept the activity book. I can hardly wait to get back to 100%. It is almost the 14th, doctor here I come, be ready to expedite my healing. ROFL. I can empathize with people who have constant pain. All I can say is your are strong minded and willed. It is so easy to give in to it and we don't. I have to be very careful when I am at my worst not to snap at anyone, watch the tone in my voice, and smile. I already have a voice that is harsher than most women. Not bad...I used to call it my Brenda Vacarro voice. For those babies who do not know who she is. An old movie star with a raspy voice. Very seductive too. LOL Just kidding. I made a decision to give up two of my outwside activites which do not involve quilting, to devote more time to make quilts for me and for my charities. I have 5 "walker" bags to make by the next guild meeting. And I have 22 surgical dolls, I make for Children's. Oh yeah....In July we are having Project Linus' 8th annual make a blanket day. We sew all day and hand out quilts (most already made) to the children who come down to pick one out. They come in their little red IV Wagons, in wheelchairs, walk....I love it. It's sad I cannot take pictures to share when they get theirs because of the new Hippa rules. Privacy and all that. Unless the parents give us signed permission. For their safety. Understandable. Last year a little boy stuffed his matching pillpw to go with his quilt and would not let me have it to sew together, so I got a needle, plopped down on the floor while he held it and sewed it up. Of course had to have help getting up. Well, gotta run. We are going for breakfast and checking out to go home. Of course DH wants to go by Cabella's. He needs shells for his gun. We live in the country so we can shoot all day and no one comes running. It is going to be a wonderful day and I carry my wonderful friends on this board on my shoulders. You are with me all the time. I will be there for you. Last night I read a lady could not mail her siggie blocks or a few other things out because of postage and medical..so I had her PPM me with her address and the check goes out tomorrow. We can't have her work so hard not to be able to send in her goodies. Now guess what???Another friend. You are all such a group, there are those constantly quick to join in and offer instructions, websites, hugs, I am so addicted to you. Someone please remind me to join the secret angel the next year. I wanna play.....I do send some out, I don't tell them who I am ...but I pick a new angel every month and send it to them. I find the addresses on my PM's and by reading daily the posts. There is always some wonderful quilter in need. I have been blessed in my life and I will share with those who have more stash than me and those who don't. Ever notice with all the stash we have, there's one fabric a pattern calls for I am missing. Murphy's Law. I move and try to leave him in the old house but...he follows. They must have cloned him too because I hear others mention him. ROFL. Have a great day. Happy quilting. When my surgery was done[hernia repair] a bad mesh was used, which has since been recalled, and resulted in a bad infection[MRSA]. I have to take a huge daily dose of antibiotics.in order to control the infection. My Surgeon wanted to do surgery to remove and replace the mesh, but my Dr. said I probably would not live through the operation.So... a real dilemma...Keep up your good work. I greatly admire your outlook on life and your admirable personality.....Margaret Gr8Gr8 Gran Quilter |

Good morning. Finally, I get to go to town and have my MRI and xray. Closer to going to the doctor on the 14th. Been there, done this before. I know I have a surgery coming up after this, I will have to schedule it around my swaps and guild meetings. It usually takes 1-2 hours in that machine, all closed in, so I know while I am laying there, I always think about the quiltingn projects I ahve going, my swaps, so I get lots of good ideas. There is a clinic opening soon with open MRI's so you don't go into that "tube" again. No offense but being that confined feels like a casket.LOL. There goes my imagination.
I have a friend on this board who is going thru a tough time. I don't know her well enough to pull her out of the temporary hole she is in. I know what it is like but I know people handle things differently. I have never let myself get to the point of not wanting to deal with my illnesses or should I say challenges. I am always up to a challenge. I think to myself, maybe I have been able to travel all over, do anything I put my mind too, pretty sure I have left nothing I want to do out....could be the reason my road could end at anytime. But then again. I know my eagerness to help others, my love of life and family, I stay active to the point I get so tired doing it (LOL) that it is just not my time to go and I will not give in to it.
So when I meet someone who is so close to falling into that rut, I am at a loss for words. What???Me at a loss for words. Well, yes.
That old saying...when I hit the floor running in the mornings, the devil says oh no she's up again. I will probably be late for my own funeral, if I was going to have one, and come sliding into my casket and say"Whew, what a ride". I love that saying too. I am not going to buried. I have decided I am going to continue to help others even when I am gone. It will either be a Forensic farm, they put you out somewhere and learn as your body goes through the stages of becoming ashes. I think it would be so funny to see their reaction when all the titanium I have in my body shows up. They will wonder....what is going on here. Then again, all the universities need cadavers to study for the new and upcoming doctors. Hopefully by the time I pass, my procedures will seem ancient and they can say "Look how far the medical field has come". So one way or the other, I my spirit goes on.
Did you know I am blind in the right eye? Well, did you also know that if a person getd my beautiful brown eyes, they can see with it? It's my optic nerve that was crushed by my bone, so my eye can go to someone. Hope this is not offending anyone. It is life after all.
I know how my family is. I have to take flowers and put them on the stones every holiday season. No one is going to have to come to mourn me. They can think of me and laugh and remember me for who I was.
Oops. I am not depressed, honestly. Just typing what comes up. How silly at times.
Well, This morning we are taking my MIL for her haircut and she is doing her own grocery shopping for the first time this year. Her surgery went well. It was a challenge keeping two carts separate.LOL. Then We will have our monthly lunch with her somewhere, and off I go to the Xray dept.
My A/c went out last night. Kinda made me upset becasue it is a totally new unit, inside and out. Finally, we had central air and heat added to this 1908 ranch house we remodeled. So the gentleman came out and it had something to do with the storm the night before. Blessed again.
Have to go, until next time. Live life and be happy.

NP3 - Had to think about that one. And you are right.I found it and put it in my rolling cart. It's in the car still but DH will bring it in soon. I'm not lifting yet.
So everyone, I went to my meeting and they cancelled it thinking I would not be there and there I was...so i visited a while, picked up some books for my MIL to read, went to get dh's meds and went to HOuston Street Merchatile and came home. I did great, n heat issues but I found my car cools so much better than that truck. LOL. nananananana.
Lab55 - you better be careful. Put the hose over your head when it happens and cook down quick. I can't do that here because our well water comes out really cold and I would stroke. Not funny. ♥♥
