Yesterday was wonderful as all the kids were here and it was a fine day of visiting and they all helped me and dad around here with things we needed help with. I baked bananut bread and strawberry cake. The banana nut went home with SIL and teh Strawberry went home with youngest DD. So today I baked more bread for here. I love it. I feel alot better day to day. Back to my old self. Sewing and repairing quilts too. Tomorrow I go to the dentist for my final visit to have a tooth capped. Then I am going to my mom's to spend the night and help her around the house. She is doing better and is getting ready to be scheduled for her second knee surgery to put the knee cap back on now that her infection is gone. FYI apparently the infection was caused when she had her teeth worked on and they did not give her anitboitics before nad after due to the metal in her body. My dentist gives me the meds before I go, because of all the titanium in my head. I cannot afford to even get a sinus infection in my head. SO if you have any metal parts in your body and need dental work, be sure you tell them. I take 6 pills before the procedure and two every four hours for two days after. Funny thing about dial up. It usually takes me an hour to read and delete all my email acocunts. I came in this evening and in 10 minutes I was done. LOL. More time to spend on the board. Wahooooooooo. The boys seem to be doing well. I checked this evening. They are in the same room now and visitors are not allowed because of infection. Thank you for all the prayers. I'm sure there were a lot of folks praying for them. Well, I am going to catch up on the board and see what is up. Thank you for sharing with me all my friends on teh board. Happy quilting. We were one of the families that got to beta-test roadrunner in our area. We hooked one computer up to the roadrunner and the other computer stayed hooked up to dial-up. After roadrunner proved itself we hooked all computers up to it and didn't look back. Beware of Dragons for thou art krunchy and tasteth good with ketchup! |

Daughter has to take antibotics as well before a dental check-up due to rhuematic fever when she was 10 years old. This is for the rest of her life as well. Well, twins ready to go back to sleep...it's 6 am so I best get in there with them. Have a dr. appt this morning for results of blood test. Know that it isn't going to be good news The boys are still in my prayers & will continue praying. Have a great day!!! A good Friend doubles the Joy & divides the Pain. I picked her up on Tuesday . I went over there to clean her house and help out and spend the night but she wanted to get out and come here so here we are. We have been playing cards and games with her and she is having a ball. She has been so bored staying off her leg for two months. It has been a wonderful visit too. I am so blessed to have my mom and my bestfriend. She is 79 so I am enjoying every minute I can with her. I don't know if I mentioned this but she is 79 nad looks 20 yrs younger. People always think we are sisters. Must be that good Japanese blood in here. Isn't it funny, she is 100% japanese but was raised in British surroundings so she has always spoken english and dressed as such. Not the typical Japanese family. But I will say that in Japan, education is number 1...not money. And the respect for the family is still there. You do not disrespect the family in any way. I am feeling so much better since the shots I took have kicked in. Mind you ,my left arm looked like it should have been purple and on Barney's body. LOL. Now it is still swollen around the joint, won't ever not be "odd " shaped because of the bone growth, but it is so much better. Tuesday was my last root canal and my almost last appt. It took 2 years to get those babies back in shape. Two weeks from now I get my "real" crown and then I am done for now. All that fabric I could have bought with the dental money. I could have tons of more yardage. I am enjoying my highspeed. Unbelieveable, the difference. No 5 minutes between screens etc. Well, I thought I was so organized with this board....Think again. I was reminded I still needed to send out a Looney tunes book, and some fabric, and 8.00 for some 30's fabric I bought. I thought I was caught up. So I apologized to those ladies and will take care of it quickly. Brain fade, senior moment, here's my sign. Well, need to get my mom an fresh icebag and her pills. Then we are off to play cards again. Cannasta this morning and later this afternoon, I invited two other friends over to play bridge with her. She loves to play and is still quite the champ. She has played duplicate bridge forever. I know I won't be her partner. LOL. She can still remember what was bid and played and she gets me after the hand. LOL. Oh well, what can I say. Mom's are supposed to be smarter than their kids,, right? I am going to sneak in and read the board before she is up though. Happy quilting. Boy, the fabrics are wonderful! I keep thinking that this will be the quilt, then another. Such wonderful collection! I am praying for the two boys. God surely has a plan for them. Praying He will keep them in His hands, and comfort them. Have their relatives been located? Debbie, I don't know how you do it! I'm so glad you have high speed. Isn't it great? It asked how many of our quilts we still had for ourselves. I answered and while doing so realized something. Each one of the quilts I have has a memory attached to it. Most happy ones, some a little sad. If we all think about when we made a quilt and what was going on in our lives at the time, we would actually have a journal in our quilts. For instance, One I just finished, king sized, batiks, was one I was working on during a quilt retreat last year and it was four days of fun and fellowship. I decided this morning to go and look at my quilts I keep and take a picture, make a quilt journal, and write what I remember about when I did it, age, health, season, thoughts, how I chose it, etc. And for all the quilt tops I rescue from garage sales. I wish I could find out who made them and when and those stories too. I have a 1829 wooden chest with six drawers that house many antique quilt tops, just think of all the memories. My mom is visiting until tomorrow. It has been fun. We have played cards, Farkel dice, Knock rummy, and bridge. My friends have come and gone and joined us too. She needed the break from home and just sitting, and I needed my mom to visit . I am so close to her and glad she is still here. I just put her in the recliner to watch "price is right" and gave her a cup of coffee with Hazelnut bisqotti cream. I love flavors. Now she can sit in the chair and watch her show and yell out prices, or up or down. She has always "talked" back to the tv whether it is a Cowboy game, or game show or movie. I did not pick up this habit growing up. Well, off to keep her company. My new Quilt World magazine just came in so I am going to read it. Also received two packages I need to open so I can thank people or send them something in return. I love getting Squishies. This week I found out I actually forgot to send two people something I promised them. They were nice enough to send me a PM to remind me. So glad too. Now I can fulfill my promise. Thank you ladies. Happy quilting. That what friends are for... http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-47906-585.htm#3704924 Doodles from Deb |

She was diagnosed with parkinson's disease and separated from her husband (number 4) at about the same time and that affected her mind. We now have no relationship at all. Cherish it while you have it. Beware of Dragons for thou art krunchy and tasteth good with ketchup! |

She has great cd's with quilting songs on them. Some one on here mentioned her "Quilt it out" on utube. The second picture is my GS Mason, 13, Kay Markum (Reba's cousin..moms are sisters), and Wade my neighbor. The last picture is of Kay and Reba right before the CMA awards last year. She came here to get Kay and they went to New Orleans for a show. Kay is older than Reba but such similarities. ANd Reba and Kay talk alike and laugh alike too. I have enjoyed knowing Kay. She also is an artist on her own. Google Kay Markum and see her wonderful oil paintings, she sells also. Travels and studied all over the world. Kay is the one who helped me organize my sewing room a few weeks ago. She is such a good friend. That what friends are for... http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-47906-585.htm#3704924 Doodles from Deb |

Joined: Mar 28, 10 Messages: 9091 Feedback: 251/100.0% Location: Bluff Dale, Texas Online | GOod morning. I was just reading a blog about an ALaskan trip and saw wonderful pictures of Batiks she bought there with whales, eskimos, etc. I have to have some. As it happens, my neighbor has just left for his yearly trip in the summer in July and August. He goes up and lives on his big boat and fishes all summer. He leaves two ranch hands to handle the cows here. Anyway, every year he asks what I want him to bring home. This year as well as salmon and halibut, I am going to beg him to go to a fabric store in Kenai and buy me at least 4 yds of 4 fabrics. Is that too much???? Not!!! Before he leaves he likes to clean out his fridge so meat won't go bad. He takes his cows to the meatlocker to process. So I found longhorn, angus, and deer meat. I am ok with regyular beef but Longhorn. I am not sure I want to eat it. Just the thought. SIlly me. ANyway, I have apparently half a cow here now. LOL. I don't eat a lot of meat because I don't have a stomach (long story) so I eat small amounts. My hubby loves beef. So I figure we will have cookouts every sunday and the kids can come over and eat. When my BFF's DS comes home from Alaska, he brings all kinds of goodies like Riendeer suasage sticks (oh no she eats Rudolph), salmon, etc. So we basically get fresh fish to eat at two of our friends house and ours too. Today I am taking tons of pictures and putting them on a disc and then loading them on here to see if I can post. I have lots to sell and need pictures to go with them. Decided to further clean out stash. I still have 4 walls of fabric and will never use all that fabric. I will stop buying fabric,,,,I will stop buying fabric....until the next time. I need to join a 12 step program for fabric hoarders. 8) Well, off to take pictures and organize more of my sewing room. I am actually cooking a longhorn roast today, so we will see. Beef is beef right? We will see. Happy quilting. That what friends are for... http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-47906-585.htm#3704924 Doodles from Deb |

Joined: Mar 28, 10 Messages: 9091 Feedback: 251/100.0% Location: Bluff Dale, Texas Online | Good morning. Last night I went out on the porch around 2 in the morning and sat and starred at the stars. In case you have never been in the country without "City lights" you may not have seen the millions of stars on a very black night. While looking at the stars a few spiders got my attention. I hate to walk thru a wb and feel it in my hair. Scares me. OOOOOH. Anyway, I watched them each as they did the web thing, it amazes me that each section is the same as the next. Do they have built in rulers or what? Perfectly semitrical if I understand right. Now if they would just build off hte porch and in teh trees or somewhere other than the porch. I mailed more packages today nad finally got caught up. Even with the two I forgot to send. My bad. Honestly , my memory can be really slow ( I have had 3 brain surgeries, so this is as good as it gets. lol). Some days are great and others, it literally goes in one ear and out the other. It is a strange feeling too. YOu know you said somthing and you looked confuse. My friends give me a key word and off I go again. Doesn't happen often but usually when I get too many things going on at the same time and get overwhelmed. Last night I also made longhorn beef filets wrapped in bacon....it was good. Could not tell the difference and it was tender. Guess you cannot go by a name of an animal. Cow is cow. LOL. My mail box was full of packages and letters today when I got home from giving blood. I love to open packages and then come on here and thank everyone. SO fun. Today I am going to PM some people I haven't heard from in a while. Just to keep in touch. I see most of them on the board. I do need to sew more than I am on here but it is so hard. So maybe in the morning, late at night. Sew during the day. I am waiting for the Siggie block to end. They extended it a month for late bugs and those who work, etc. Now I am getting my Batik Swap blocks ready to go by the 15th. Mine will be there on time. Happy quilting everyone. I am off to the sewing room to finish putting fabric on the shelves. I have to get my sewing set up again. Getting behind. oh, I met another board member who lives in Granbury which is only 20 minutes from me. It is the main town I go into to shop. SHe is really nice. Haven't met her in person but maybe soon. Have lunch with the other three that live close. Happy quilting.
