Hi Debbie!  So glad to hear you are feeling better! And your family too! It is nice you have other board members nearby, makes going shopping fun!

My neighbors even eat dairy cows...how strange is that! i have a longhorn steer we are going to butcher soon, maybe I can talk you out of some recipes! I am an aweful cook!
Hugs to You!

Hi, I haven't been in this section much for a loooong time  and I thought I would pop in and say "HI"

It sounds like you and Mom had a wonderful visit!!! I bet you really lifted her spirits too

You are so busy, that you make me tired reading about all that you do LOL

Hi,Debbie...How are you ? Sounds like you and your Mother have really had a good time. So glad you are feeling better.
I have not been feeling up to par the last few days. Just letting old age get the best of me,I guess.LOL I have been sewing on my 9 patch project and working some on my scrappy Batik top.Very time consuming but fun.It keeps me busy.
BTW,I used 4 pieces of the fabric you sent me to make myself
4 house dresses to lounge around in while sewing. Thanks again for sending them to me......{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}

You are so welcome. Either you are tiny or I sent some bigger pieces. ROFL...Just kidding. Hope you get to ffeling better soon. I am working on the 9patch blocks too. Did you get some batiks when you asked for them on the board? I hope you did. We have some wonderful people on this board.
I saw you on facebook. Yahoooooo, now I know who I am talking to. I am not one to use facebook much but I check once in a while to see what everyone is doing. I hear there is a change coming to it to invade our privacy. I don't personally use it. I'm comfortable doing it on this board. I feel safe here. Have a great day. Good to hear from you

Karen, I don't have any longhorn recipes but it was good. Then made hamburgers yesterday. I guess I was ready for it to be different and it wasn't. Just as good.
Hi AMma- thanks for checking on me.
Craftsbyrobin....nice to see you in here too.
I love my PDA. Seems like the last few months I did not do much. Felt so lazy. Now I am feeling more like myself.
Today I got up, went to the family cemetary and raked dead weeds off Papa's grave and straightened the flowers. I put news ones out every holiday, etc. One day, my ashes will be there with my DH and MIL.
Then went to town to go by the library and leave some books for the Friends of the LIbrary. While I was there, I made copies of patterns some friends need for quick and easy Project Linus quilts.
Then went to Cici's and took DH and MIL. They love that place. I cannot eat much so they eat my parts worth. LOL. Then I decided to run by Mission Granbury and leave some quilts there and went to CPS and left 20 quilts there. By then, My dh and MIL were fussing to come home so we headed this way. Then I saw an office supply and said pull in. LOL. I need some supplies for my desk.
So I got them home. Then I came in here to check the board. I actually replied to several. I am so glad my "ready to ship" folder is empty. Needed a break. I have started keeping postal boxes stocked here so I can grab one when needed.
I thought about something today. I could actually be a recluse if I had to. I seem to be drawn to this board daily several times and like it and the friends I talk to. Seems talking about quilts is almost as fun as making them. And it can be like having a tea party when chatting in the chat room. Grab a cup and chat. Love it.
An old memory. When I lived in Germany, I started kndergarten there. I was remembering that the Nun's would come to the house to get me every morning, and tie me into one of those two people, 8 row gadgets like they used in the Madeline book. Remember those? I did not even mind. Wonder if I got to be in the front each time. Then they marched us to a building and down the stairs we went into the basement. My dad's office was upstairs and I kmew it too. So, I would tell the nuns "I am going upstairs to see my daddy". Well, my dad's reponse to that was "let her come up those stairs alone just one time". Needless to say I never ventured up those stairs. I was raised by two strict parents and appreciate it now. It has passed down to the GKs and I am proud. Of course, they did not spare the belt, or the branch, etc. I turned out ok. No abuse. Today it is totally out of our hands on how to raise our children. I am so glad mine are grown. I watch the tv and when kids speak to their parents so disrespectfully, I cringe. I can feel a backhand coming. LOL. It is so sad the gov't has restricted out discipline to raise such rude children.
But then again, I did not use physical punishment because I was a softy and I did not like spankings when I got them so I used writing sentences, picking weeds, etc. Worked for me. When I see kids involved in sports, cheerleading, 4h, etc. I see parents who take the time out of their day to give their children a chance at a good life and good friends. Families do not spend as much time together.
OK I see where this is going. I know not everyone falls into the above category. We spend time with our grown children and GKs, babysit, go to concerts amd games,. etc. We can only imagine how it is on the other side. And it is not pretty. I do not worry about the Rapture and when it comes. I do worry about how the future will be if our children continue on the path they are on. I hope colleges start to offer courses for their major only and leave out the "extras" not needed. HOurs are expensive for colleges now. Fewer and fewer can go.
OK This was a strange post. I must be feeling a little strange after reading the newspaper last night. I am a thinker. Sometimes I wish I weren't. Every life is so different, We are different, we like different things, we are raised so differently, we eat different. And yet look how we come together on this board as friends. We are all from different areas, different family structures, etc.
Yet we are all great friends.
Thank you all for looking past my failures and being friends who share in quilting. And thanks for reading this silly post. I have no idea either....ROFL.

Deb ... I'm on Facebook too  ... Yeah my parents let us know that kids were meant to be seen and not heard with adults were talking ... I also believe there is a thin line ... and just because some parents cross that line doesn't mean ALL parents do ...

anyhoo ... you'll have to find me on Facebook ... I'll PM you my info

Bless You. My sentiments exactly. My children got thier fair share of spankings, and as you said,no abuse, but a
repremand for an action they should not have taken/done.
It didn't do any harm. They grew up to be good citizens.
And I agree with your statements about todays children.
How do we help those who most need the help to get on and stay on the right path? Is it a lost cause? I wonder.
You got me started,Deb..Have a nice day and Happy Quilting

OK . Here is a picture of my mom and sister followed by two of my son's oldest boys. Now you know what my mom and sis look like. We could be triplets. LOL The boys were in a basket at Cabella's looking at the animals. It was fun.

Zolly Craig is going thru his terrible twos , hence the red eyes. ROFL. Jaden is the quiet one. They enrolled them in a Montesory school so they could work. My DS and DIL own "DogoMat" in Ft. Worth on Bryant Irvin. They take dogs in to groom and let others come in to wash their own like a laundry mat. It is fun. Of course they both graduated from UT Austin, so the bldg and everything in it is orange and white and black. They have a 7 month old too, Tysse. He goes to the store with mom. They have had the store open almost 2 yrs so they might make it. She had two businesses in Austin before they moved here to be close. Cassandra actually groomed the cats in the "cat Woman" movie.
Thanks for the Kuddoos guys. (((((HUGS)))))))))
